FlexPort USB interface with RS232 and microSD card

FlexPort is a USB interface that combines an RS-232 interface with a microSD card slot.

No drivers required

FlexPort solves a number of commonly encountered problems with using typical USB to RS232 converters.

• No Drivers required
  Unlike typical USB to RS232 converts, no dirvers are required for the flexport interface. FlexPort is automaically recognized by most modern operating systems without the need for any specific driver installations.
• No more searching for correct COM-Port numbers
  FlexPort does not register a COM-Port in the operating system. USB to RS 232 converters tend to change their COM-Port number when pluged into a different USB-Port.
• TTL and RS232 levels selectable
  FlexPort allows to select either 3.3V TTL levels or RS232 levels to connect be able to connect to standard micro controller UARTs or instruments with RS232 interfaces.
• Power supply via USB
  USB to RS 232 converters typically do not provide a power to attached devices. The FlexPort interface includes electronics to generate regulated output voltages of +3.3V and + 5V. Typcially 100mA can be provided on these power lines. Special care has been taken to provide +5V with low noise for sensitive electronics.

Built-in microSD card slot for data storage up to 2GB

FlexPort includes an SD card slot that is directly accessible as mass storage (like a generic USB-stick). Data and programs can be stored directly on the SD card. Using an autostart function programs from the microSD card can be automatically executed whenever the FlexPort is connected to a PC running MS-Windows.

Datalogging without a PC

FlexPort can be powered via battery or an external 4.5 to 6V power supply. Logged data is stored onto the SD card, which can be removed to transfer the data to any PC, mobile phone, etc equipped with an SD card or microSD card slot.

Drivers for Labview and other programs

FlexPort comes with a dll to access the built in RS232 port. A Labview VI is included that allow for a simple use of FlexPort within LabView.

Options for other interfaces
